Welcome to Ugandan Vanilla Beans

Uganda, Known Informally as the Pearl of Africa, Is an Ideal Location for Vanilla Production. Uganda Is One of the Very Few Regions with Two Distinct Dry Seasons Per Year. Each Dry Season Allows for a Strong Vanilla Harvest, Therefore Providing Extremely Fresh Vanilla Year-Round

Uganda's Production of Vanilla Beans

The Cultivation of Planifolia Vanilla Beans Is a Relatively Recent Development in Uganda, as the First Commercial Plantations Were Founded in the Late 1990s. in Addition to Having Warm, Humid Weather All Year Round, Uganda Is Distinct from Other Places in the World Where Vanilla Is Grown. It Has Two Dry Seasons Per Year Which Means That the Vanilla Vines Are Given Two Chances to Bloom and Thus, Two Chances for Pollination. for the Farmers, This Means More Stable Revenue for Consumers, Fresher Vanilla Beans Are Available Year-Round.

Premium Planifolia Vanilla Across The World

Despite the Industry’s Importance and Huge Potential to Uganda’s Vanilla Farmers, Vanilla Quality Has Often Been Compromised by Immature Harvesting, Poor Handling, Processing, and Storage Issues as Well as Theft. Their Government Has Therefore Chosen to Collaborate with Several Partners to Develop the Vanilla Value Chain and Increase Security in Areas Growing Vanilla. Uganda Has Adopted Best Practices from Other Vanilla-Producing Countries in a Bid to Promote Its Global Position as a Leading Source of High-Quality Vanilla.

The Special Vanilla Bean from Uganda

The Planifolia Vanilla Bean Is Typically Long and Narrow, with a Dark Brown or Black Color and a Slightly Oily Surface. These Pods Range in Length from 13-18 Cm. They Have a Smooth, Oily Surface and Their Moisture Content Is Between 28 and 35%. You’ll Be Amazed at the Number of Seeds in Fresh Ugandan Beans and Their Thick, Sticky Consistency. the Moment You Slice Open a Pod, You’ll Pick Up Its Deep Woody Notes, with Hints of Leather, Dried Fruit, and Berries. They’re Supple and Plump and Have No Imperfections.

Our Beans Are Traditionally Cured Using the Bourbon Curing Method to Develop the Full, Complex Vanilla Flavor Made of Over 200 Organic Compounds That Artificial Vanilla (Natural Vanilla Flavor Wonf) Cannot Properly Replicate. The Entire Process Takes Anywhere from 6 to 9 Months After Pollination and Our Farmers in the Sava Region Have Turned Vanilla Processing and Curing into a True Art. This Region Remains the Industry Quality Benchmark for Producing Planifolia (The Species of Vanilla Found in Madagascar) Vanilla with High Vanillin Content.

That is a good price! I have bought from planifolia vanilla bean.

I went on and ordered the vanilla beans, and they arrived. These vanilla beans were super fresh, plump, and full of seeds. I am very happy with my purchase!! Don’t be fooled by the size of the vacuum-packed bag they come in. Once you open it, you will be pleased with the plentiful contents.
